That's a good idea.  I'll also be in Shanghai during the Chinese New Year break.  Even a small gathering would serve the purpose of meeting new people and chatting over topics of common interests.

Glad you responded, and would love to catch up with you (again) and Minghei.  After staying in Beijing for a couple of years, I guess I'm less of a Shanghaiese in terms of places :-)  I assume that we meet up in the evening for drinks, and don't expect too many folks will show up, so here are my few suggestions on bars:

Okay okay, allow me to take the lead this time.  So to all Afroshanghai member, we're going to hold a casual meeting/gathering during the Chinese New Year holiday.  Any member who believes there should be some "human touch" to make the virtual forum more real should seriously consider coming to meeting, and I bet that you will won't be disappointed as Khabzela has promised to bring lots of jokes to the table!

I had a really good time!  Thanks to all who came through.  I should have left before we hit the last bar, but I figured it might be my last time in Shanghai for a long time.
