Watched two movies lately. Both are excellent.  Will Smith's The Pursuit of Happyness is a truly inspiring movie, and Babel digs up the intricate relationships and difficulties underneath different cultures.

I assume you may find DVDs around the street corner, or you can download from www.xunlei.com.  I'm pasting the links to the download pages of the two movies, just in case you don't read Chinese.  But you still need to download and install a web agent on xunlei in order to enable P2P download of those movies.

Tiger, Will Smith happens to be one of my favorite stars if not the favorite. I just completed the 5th viewing of "The pursuit of happyness(happiness)" yesterday.  What touches me and challenges me is the scene with the interview for the internship, is it realistic? I seriously think that part should be redone.

5th viewing! Wow, you must be truly in love with the movie! LOL

I agree with you.  The interview part appeared a bit too dramatic but hilarious.  But well, I guess that's a movie BASED on a true story but not necessarily completely a true story like documentaries.

Cheers,
Tiger

That part of the movie sort of turned me off.  I don't believe a man, regardless of race, would have gotten the job based on that outfit he had on.  I think they added for dramatic affect.  I thought the movie, was just okay.  I guess I expected a lot more.  I asked myself would I have left my husband under those circumstances?  I would have left, but I would have taken my son with me.  There is no way, I would have left my child to a man that initially seemed so irresponsible.  I wonder did they ever get back together?
Babel - To me Babel was a less dramatic version of Crash.  The only stories I found touching were the Mexican Nanny and the Japanese Girl.  I wish Brad Pitt would have told the Nanny what was going on and maybe she wouldn't have left to see her son's wedding.
I am still trying to figure out, what part the Japanese girl played in the whole story other than her father giving the middle eastern man the gun.

I liked Pursuit of Happiness.  It's not competely true to the real life story of Chris Gardner, but it's about as close as you can get in a movie.  The interview is actually more mild than the real events....Chris Gardner had actually spent about 10 days in jail for parking tickets before going to the interview...so he was probably much worse off than the movie let on.  Also, his wife did leave him after he returned from jail and later came back with the child (who was younger than the child in the movie).  Chris Gardner spent about a year living homeless with his son.

He's now worth about 800 million dollars....who says there aren't anymore good borthas!  This is a great movie going into Black History Month.

I also liked Dream Girls.  It's a great nod to legendary artists of R&B and soul.  The back catalog for this movie must be huge!  So many of the songs use cover music.  James Early is a good mix of Little Richard and James Brown...it's also good to see Danny Glover again..

I loved The Pursuit of Happiness; it made me cry though but Will Smith did an amazing job. Is The Curse of the Golden Flower playing there? It's an amazingly beautiful movie.

I don't know if I can complain about the Japanese chick  ;D ;D ;D ;D  Art is art!   ;D ;D.   Anyway,

Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!

It helped to show the effects that an absent father has on his family.  Also she lives in a world of silence and tries to belong.  It's much more interesting than showing her father go through a full day of work.
I once met a young girl like this.  I did the same thing the cop did.  I can't explain it now....我喝多了 !

@MingHei
True.  Her part in the movie did show those affects.  She was really lonely. She is actually nominated for an Oscar.  Her part was very touching, but the story line came out of nowhere.  The cop exhibited great strength not to give in.  I thought he was for a minute.
