why do chinese think africans come from a desert or some sort of a big village

I've been fortunate enough to travel throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa and I've seen some of China. I've come to realize that people's perceptions are the sum of their experiences -- be they limited or broad. The world wide web can do much to defuse ignorance as your website recommendations have proven. Throughout history there seems to be a need for one group of people to think themselves superior to the other. However, I have to say that in the case of Africa, inferiority was created in order for Europe and America to obtain the resources that they needed in order to develop into modern civilizations. When Europeans drew the first map of Africa, it was represented by an African king carrying a lump of gold (King Mansa Musa on pilgramage to Mecca gave away so much gold that Europe's economy crashed). Also people underestimate the power of the gun. It was a new invention when the Europeans invaded Africa. For the 1st time, many people could be killed by just one man from a distance vs. one on one combat. The first modern arms race began there. Think about it.
