Can't find African in Guangzhou in this forum

Although many african live in Guangzhou, but I can't find any one in this fourm? Where are they?

Hmm...someone told me that the African community at Guangzhou's a particularly large one.  Maybe they're not into web-surfing/internet, lol.

actually i don't know yet where i would like to be.  i just need to take a few weeks and travel around to several cities in china to see where i could run my business and if i want to live in china for the time being.  i guess i'll have to see how things go for me in the next 3 to 4 months. 

i have to travel to liberia early in the spring to set up something.  africa is calling me too so it's between the two.  right now i'm about business so ...

      Gzhou sucks men! Unfortunately it's the city with the biggest African community here in China. These days you can't even walk the streets freely without cops in civilian wear stopping you to check your papers. You know what I mean? Even when your papers are in order, it sucks to be stopped every now and then. Last year they raided my little business place over and over until I closed it down eventhough I put a Chinese person there as manager. Just because 80% of the customers were blacks, they made it their first stop whenever they went out on patrol, so guys gave up. After I listened to a few stories from people who have lived there for some time the conclusion was that the Africans living in Gzhou are largely responsible for poor the relationship that exists between them and the cops. And I mean crazy stories that would make ones tongue sore just narrating them. It's just not the place to be.
       As to why they are not on this forum, I can attempt a few answers:
1. Few of them have jobs and or business as stable as what other Africans have in other cities in China, so their living conditions do not permit them to spend time online contributing in forums. If they afford some time online they would prefer to do other things like searching for 'valuable' contacts.

2. Gzhou is usually used as a temporary base or stopping point from which Africans head for other cities or go back home. Most Africans there have come to buy or sell and their stay ranges from 1 week to 1 / 2 months. Those that have come with the hope of working in China spend a little time in Gzhou just to be able to find good contacts in other cities.

That's as far as I know. But like someone said, having them here would be wonderful. If that happens, expect a lot spam mail too offering 'great' business proposals.

I went to GZ last Monday, and yeah, really a lot of Blacks are scattered all over the street, specially in the TianXiu Building, were most of them are buying stuffs to send to Africa.

Then go to the postal area, you will see Blacks again.. sending money to their families some I don't know..

bridge you are crazy!!! you had me laughing at your reply.  it is so true though. hopefully i'll stop in gzhou this summer.  thinking of going there.  my trip has been postponed like forever but i hope to be in china by may.

Xiaobei Lu in Yuexiu district is where Africans concentrate the most; from there - at the junction with Huansi Zhonglu - to Huanshi Donglu, Africans come thick and steady on the ground. The frarthest point where they matter numerically might be the BUNKER Disco, near the Zoo.

I would give that disco a wide berth, though, on account of its bad reputation.
