Hi everyone,

well since I am officially an afroshanghainese..lol and would be here for a while, Im looking for an apartment pleaseee..
Yeah I have seen quite a few, checked  on emoo and some other websites.
Some offer ridiculous prices and some not in the right location.

Anyways.. im looking for a 1 bedroom flat or possibly a flat to share  around the city center or at least somewhere close the subway station.. Preferably Line 2..Office is around Shimen 1 station, so im looking around that area..

Any resources will be highly appreciated..

thanks a bunch..

between 1500RMB to 2000RMB (alone or with a flatmate, could be either). If its walking distance to the subway station and a little away from town, could also be fine.

Thanks.

PS: So far thats the vague idea I have about Shanghai, considering I'm still new here, you may also enlighten me or giveme more tips about housing.

It would be rather difficult to find a decent place for a single bedroom apartment in this area, but if you can find a roommate and rent a 2-bedroom one you can find a good deal. In any case, here are my tips:
-First, walk around within the geographical area you are interested in finding an apartment in, and look for interesting locations.
-Find the closest real estate agency and ask them if they have anything interesting for you. Better, if you have time, get in touch with two agencies and have them compete for your money.
-When you go for the visits, having a Chinese friend coming along will help lowering the financial expectations of the landlords, but you will still need to negotiate.
Wish you good luck in your apartment hunt!
