His Chinese name is Hao Ge. He has a Master Dergee in Mathematics and speaks good Chinese. Last year he attended a talent show on CCTV and won a lot of applause.  He has a lot of fans in China now.

His 1st CD, which is called Red & Black, is also released in China this year.

Happy for him but I still wonder why someone who holds a Master degree in Mathematics should be releasing CDs...I still remember this doctor in medecine from an African country who stayed in Shanghai after graduation until being deported for an obscure visa problem. I have nothing against artists, when it is for a living, but I believe it is time for us Africans and people of African descent, especially those who have had the chance to get advanced education, to get ourselves more known in academics, science and business too.
The word is out.

Congratulations to Hao Ge (smart name -- Good Brother and Good Song)!

Career changes happen sometimes by choice, and the other time for the reality. Many Chinese got their Master and Ph.D.degrees, but they wok in the fields different from their degree studies in both China and abroad.

The boss of Windows has a Master's in Computer Science, but found his real passion is entertainment.

Music mathimatical so it's not too strange that a mathematician has a passion for music.

Life change and people change, things change; we all seek opportunities around and it doesn’t matter if you have been pursuing one thing and then found a short way of getting your goal set. Master’s in mathematics, music or whatever you are doing, all we are looking for is money; especially if you are from Africa where you have responsibilities.
Africans, we all talk about going back home as if things are that easy there; thousands of people have PHD in Africa and they earn nothing! People that don’t want to go and waste their time home knows what they are doing, and yeah, there are better chances for them overseas.
We all want to help our nation, but Africa is not ready for help……
I wish the guy best of luck.

It would really have been cool from my point of view if the guy made some breakthru in mathematics. But people will go to where the money is. ;D

I saw him on TV today when I was in the hospital to get some medicine for food sickness.  He's really good!  He was doing some Chinese opera in a contest.  This could be our Da Shan.
