Hi, I am a student from the U.S. and I will be movicng to China in a couple of months. I have dreadlocks and I have no idea where I will be able to get my hair done while I'm in China. Does anyone know where I can get my dreadlocks done?

Hair care is a real issue in China for foreigners and even in Shanghai the most sophisticated city in the country it's still a problem. But sometimes one can be lucky to find what he needs. I have no place to suggest for dreadlocks but the fact is when u arrive u can look for it yourself and I wish you to find something that can meet your needs

Thanks for the advice. Is there a signifcant amount of Africans in China, maybe students at the Universities etc? I was thinking that I could maybe ask someone from a University. What do you think?

There are not so many African students in Shanghai overall (at least compared to Beijing) but there are some universities which have a certain number. So it will depend of where you are.
Wish u good luck in Shanghai.

There must be some place for your hair. I even have a chinese friend wearing dreadlock. But i didn't ask him where he had it done.
