Miss Africa in China 2010 in Shanghai!

After negotiations that have been going on for many months the 2010 edition of the Miss Africa in China Pageant will take place in Shanghai.

After the first edition in Beijing last year many Beijing residents who missed the show have until now been hoping the event will still take place in Beijing. Unfortunately to them, Shanghai will be hosting the show this year. "Shanghai right now is the focus of the world with the world expo it is currently hosting. We hope fans of the pageant in other provinces will understand our choice. The Pageant will continue to move around China with the hope of giving everyone a chance to attend" The chairperson of the Organizing Committee has finalized arrangements with the management of The Grand Soluxe Zhongyou Hotel Shanghai - the hotel that will host the prestigious event.

Pre-selection is still going on and potential contestants should send in their pictures.

Individuals and companies interested in becoming sponsors should get in touch with the organizing committee as soon as possible. A cocktail party with sponsors, marking the official opening of activities for this year will be held at the banquet room of the host hotel on Africa Day - May 25th, strictly on invitation.

If you would like to be a volunteer worker and help in the promotion of this event, please do let us know. We welcome on board everyone with good intentions.

Flyers, posters and tickets are currently being made. The delay was due to the difficulties in venue arrangements. You know, the Venue and logos of sponsors must feature on these things so it is often not easy to manage all that on time.

We're focusing more now on getting the girls through the pre-selection phase since their pictures will feature on flyers and posters too. Once that's done we will hit the printing press.

It's a pity that no girl based in Shanghai has shown up for pre-selection yet. It will be a shame if the host city doesn't have a contestant. Hehe!
