I have talked with a Sabura Rashid, the mother of Fatimah Toure. She is trying desperately to find her in China since she went there as part of her Masters with Concordia University and didn't graduate last spring like she was supposed to (and hasn't contacted her mom or the school). Please see the message and picture below and reply and email her mom at
sabura.rashid@gmail.com if you have seen/heard anything of her daughter. I have already told her to contact the embassy, local consulates, and through them the Gong'An station. Thanks.
"Hello, I'm looking for my daughter Fatimah Toure. She is somewhere in China, but I have not heard any news about her and I'm worried. She was a grad student in the Concordia University Int'l studies program. She is very tall 6'2" , has short hair, is very smart and brown complexioned. She has a beautiful smile. I am very worried about her. I am desperate to hear news about her. She should have graduated last spring with her MA....Fatimah was a student in Concordia University's Masters in International Studies program. She has been in China since 2008. I know she spent quite a bit of time in Guangzhou. As part of the program, she was teaching English to Chinese students. She should have graduated last spring, but I have received no information concerning her graduating. Since her mail comes to my house, I would have gotten something to that effect here. I have been in contact with the Dean of her program but he claims he is unaware of her whereabouts. It is hard to get info about her from him because she is over 21 years old. Because she is such a private person, it is also hard to find her friends. She visited Shanghai and may be there now. My whole family is worried about her. I have attached a photo she sent my daughter last year from Beijing."
