Isn't it sad that for every holiday that comes around..for most of us here in china..it's always the same ol' thing of going out and drinking...basically just another weekend. I want this year to be different though...any ideas of how i can spend a meaningful christmas....ANYTHING? ANYONE?

PEACE

yes you can either treat it like a regular day like i wanna do or just be by yourself (another good option) walk around town and see stuff that you usually wouln't see. take a long walk and stop at different places and see whats up. paz.

I guess it would be the same thing as before, you know China is not a country where the Christmas and New Year traditions are firmly entrenched, you can expect miracles then...The Chinese "pretend" to celebrate Christmas but deeply within themselves Christmas is just another foreigners thing. Of course you can organize something with friends or join an activity for foreigners but it would never be the same. As far as I am concerned I have abandonned the idea of having a real Christmas in China long ago and I won't be surprised to spend it in my room.
Merry Christmas,
Pat

Maybe we could have a potluck!  What do Africans do during the day in Shanghai?  I only see black folks at night.
