I have friends who are successful women and they don't like much this woman's day thing. Why should there be women day and no men day?

I know such types, they remind me of ultra feminists in the sixties who refused to shave their legs, refused make up, high heels and all accessories that enhance a womans looks. To date they are still single and bitter as hell!

But anyway i get the arguement. Having the day and not one for men is sort of patronizing. The reality however is that women carry lifes burdens more than men. They go through child birth, in most countries they juggle being home makers and career women, in addition to being at the recieving end of the dark side of us men.

So I think it's neccesary that society aknowledges the very important role women play. i think it's also important to acknowledge that in spite of this society continues to mutilate the beauty and sanctity of womanhood. Women continue to be beaten, raped, ignored, and violated unabatted. The perpetrators are primarily men.

I think therefore that it's very important that we pause just for one day in the year to reflect upon, and celebrate the heroic deeds of women and girls all over the world.

I disagree with the ultra feminists on this one.

The off-shoot of the feminist movement i refer to above is the extreme form, ie. the 'Al Queda' within the movement. Not only did these women do the stuff i mentioned above, but some went as far as using the statement " I reject my pussy!" as a battle cry. The argument apparently was that a womans' 'pu**y, was the core from which her oppression emanates. They argued it was the very reason why women in  many parts of the world were objectified and thought of only as life support systems for p***y.

Like most arguements about social issues, there is some amount of sense in this one.

But then again i think such radicals miss a critical point,... all women have in their person, something of extremely high value. The value of which is measured by an incredibely high and persistant demand. So instead of rejecting the darn thing, i suggest they use it as a bargaining chip,...the smart ones do! I mean look at the roaring trade them ladies of negotiable affection have been enjoying since the beginning of time,..! 8)
