The only problem I have with Shanghai is the lack of central heating, which is horrible in the dorms because we're not allowed to have our own heaters (I was wearing gloves just a minute ago).

But I do understand the necessity, as I almost burned the dorm down last year when I broke the rules and decided to have my own small heater, LOL.
I have a hard time believing that Shanghai is dirtier than Beijing, I spent only about 15 hours in Beijing and that short period of time was probably the worst I had ever spent in my years living in China. That said, I even saw kids smoking (probably about 8 years old or so) at the railway station there. Also, many 'CSC drop-outs' from my country are students who were studying at Beijing.

I heard that Beijing's nightlife is a whole lot better than Shanghai's, but I'll have to experience that one for myself.
