I don't really know where I stand where palmistry is concerned.  I suppose it's one of those "tell me something good and I'll believe you, tell me something bad and I'll call it a sham".

I met this Chinese lady who did Chinese Medicine for several years and she's also a self-proclaimed Chinese palmistry expert, she told me that she's studied palmistry for 10+ years.  It took some major convincing (and 5 shots of Tequila) but I eventually gave in.

According to Chinese palmistry, you can't really find out the length of a person's life because the life line only shows the quality of the person's life.  This is quite different to Indian palmistry, in which you can actually calculate the age of when you're probably going to die.

What convinced me to get my palm read by the Chinese lady? I was hanging out with some friends and one of them told me that she went to the hospital that afternoon because she was suffering from abdominal pains.  An hour later, we were introduced to this Chinese woman (the palm reader) and 5 seconds within reading my friend's palm she turned to her and asked: "you have a digestive tract infection, don't you?" :o

It was then my turn and she was right about my health issues, which she was able to diagnose within 5 seconds. :o  Here's the funny part: according to the Chinese woman, I'm going to get married to a business man who's going to spoil me rotten...but cheat on me on his business trips. :D :D :D LOL... I then remembered why I didn't want my palm read in the first place.  She then told me I'll be really successful in my early 30s, so I guess that reading wasn't too traumatic after all. ;)

So yeah, ever had your palm read here in China (or anywhere else)? :D

I had my palm read by an old man at the top of some hill when I first came to China.  He said I would get blacker and be married twice.  I will live a long time, but be poor.  He added that somewhere in between I would meet a rich benefactor in my 30s, so I'm expecting him or her to come along any day now.

On one other occasion back in the states I was told I would be married twice....is it any wonder i'm not married now?  I'm afraid of marrying the first woman because if the palm readers are right then I'm going to divorce her anyway....divorces can be expensive and maybe that's why I'll be poor.   :)

Your marital problems can be solved so easily. Just have a marriage of convenience, not really based on love-maybe even our lovely ladies on AFSHG can help you out. You marry and then file for divorce two weeks after. In this way you know increase your chances that your next marriage is indeed your true love. If that one also screws up, then as they say, you neck deep in XXXX. ;D

Haha... :D Minghei, is that a true story or are you just messing around? ;D

Yeah, palmistry can actually ruin lives. :-\ I mean, I'm actually going to have to force myself to cheat on my future husband because I'll be marrying a potential son of a >bleep< :D :D :D

Maybe I should just sleep with my future husband's brother.  Maybe that'll give him every reason to cheat on me during his trips. :) Wow, I almost can't wait to indulge in this naughtiness.

I read an Indian palmistry book and it had a formula in it that helps you calculate when you're probably going to die.  It said I'd die around my mid-30s. :-[ Boo hoo...I earn loadsa cash in my early 30s and then I'll have to die almost immediately after that.  Sucks balls.

My question is, are such palm-reading predictions true? I mean historically.

My question is, are such palm-reading predictions true? I mean historically.

Depends on who you go to for your reading.  One of my friends made a fool out of herself & palmistry one evening by reading palms of guests at a party.  She went round telling people the same thing, but phrased her sentences differently.  She was being serious, but I don't think she really knew how to read palms.

But the lady I spoke about in my earlier post seemed to know how to read palms.  I mean, she was able to identify me & my friend's health conditions, and she was spot-on about them.

Although, I don't believe palmistry can help predict a person's future, i.e. will you get married, will you get cheated on, how long your life will be, how much money you'll have, etc. :D

I'm guessing Palmistry is closely related to the teachings of Chinese Medicine.  For example, if you're suffering from circulatory problems or anaemia, your hands will look pale and discoloured.  I'm pretty sure there are thousands of health-related signs that can be seen on the palms alone, but it takes an experienced person to identify the person's health conditions.

Hi,
I recently read an article by a lady who mentioned a particular psychic website that had some very talented psychic readers. I tried their service and they were actually quite good. They were able to bring out a lot of stuff about me including my love life that only I personally knew and they never gave any sort of vague answers to my questions. I have a new found respect for psychic readers now. You can read the lady's article at

L.I.F.E : Living In Fear of Extinction

« Reply #10 on: January 14, 2009, 12:55:07 AM »

An old Chinese woman with a crooked nose and severely deformed arthritic fingers read my palm once. Half way through the reading she was afflicted by terrible convulsions I feared would snap her in two. Her skin took on the color of death while her eyes spoke the language of ancient terror.

I tried to pull my hand away but failed. The frail creature I had met a few minutes ago had taken on super human strength.

A stranger’s voice emerged from deep within her throat, a powerful voice.

“YOU WILL LEAD FROM THE CENTER OF A DARK CONTINENT. YOUR WORD AND DEED SHALL SPREAD TO ALL FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH. MILLIONS SHALL PERISH BEFORE SUBMITTING. YOU WILL UNITE HUMANITY!”

She collapsed thereafter, never to rise again.

...............

I have come to accept that I shall forever be tormented by this experience. I mean seriously guys, who would have thought that old women actually watched Terminator or the Matrix Trilogy. Those are my favorite movies,...I thought I was cool. ;D ;D
