Why is it that in soooo many movies, novels etc. when a person comitts suicide by way of slitting their wrists they do it in a bath tub??

Hmmm... come to think of it, in all these stories the ones that are found in the bath tub usually survive the suicide attempt and the story continues.... Those that hang themselves on the other hand have their stories end right there!!,...they are usually found dead by a screaming maid, hehehe!

It started out as a joke.  But now that I think of it, it's something they should consider.  Suicide is a very selfish and loser-ish thing to do.  If you want to leave the world with at least 1% dignity, don't stain the carpet.
