Edison Chen

I dont know who this guy Edison Chen is,... someone told me he's a Hong Kong celebrity or smthn.

Well it seems people are excited about him having taken pictures of himself hammering some fellow celebrity chicks. The pics are being circulated on the internet. A friend sent me some of the images, and i gotta say some of them babes in there are quite hot.

I also heard the fellow had to quit his 'job ' coz of this scandal. I checked out a few forums, papers included, and it seems a lotta people think him losing his job is a good thing. The fact of the matter is that it's not everyone who thinks that way.

There are basically two types of people who are pissed of at good old Eddy and are happy to see him punished. They are :

A. The pathetic loser males who are jealous it aint them in the pictures enjoying those ladies!

B. The pathetic loser female types who are jealous of those chicks in the pictures coz they will NEVER get a chance to be with a celebrity!

My advice to Mr.Chen is simple. Don't mess around with cameras, and cellphones when u are having sex. There's way too many sickos out there foaming at mouth with rabid jealousy ready to pounce on every opportunity to destroy other peoples' careers over any little thing.

Actually he didn't "quit" his job, he owns the media company he was working in, he only retires from the entertainment world and will be returning to Canada (he is Chinese Canadian).

I haven't got my hands on the pictures though, so if you could help, just for the history, you know

yeah i heard about him.  why would someone take their computer to be fixed with all of these personal graphic photos and videos for anyone to see.

also heard that the mob was furious also because they run the hong kong movie biz and those "actresses" are suppose to be pure.

Edison Chen claims copyright of nude pics

HONG Kong singer and actor Edison Chen has asked local Customs to protect his copyright on hundreds of nude pictures that showed him in sexual poses with a dozen women in bed, the latest measure he has taken to prevent more leaks of the racy snaps amid a scandal that has shocked the world's Chinese-speaking community.

Chen reported to Hong Kong Customs on Friday through his lawyers that he suspected someone infringed his copyright on the pictures and demanded the authority carry out a criminal probe, Sina.com reported today.

Hong Kong law prescribes that people can get up to four years in prison along with a fine of HK$50,000 (US$7,611.74) if they are found to have copied art work for sales or renting without the producer's consent, the report said.

Chen, who returned to Hong Kong last Thursday, is now identified as a witness to cooperate with the police's ongoing investigation on the sex picture scandal that involved at least seven female celebrities.

The 27-year-old star will leave the city in about three days as soon as police finish his part of the investigation, the report said.

The Canada-born Chinese pledged to come back if necessary, the report said.

Police so far have found more than 1,500 nude pictures on Chen's laptop that was taken on Friday.

More than 800 of those pictures have been circulated on the Internet, creating a media frenzy and heated discussions on BBS communities both in Hong Kong and the mainland since it broke late in January.

The photos were said to have been leaked out to the public by employees of a computer-repair shop from a faulty laptop believed to belong to Chen.

Chen told more than 300 reporters at a news conference on Thursday that he decided to quit the Hong Kong entertainment industry after he finishes current projects. He also said he was "sorry to those ladies and their families" involved in the scandal and hoped he could receive "the public's forgiveness" and "a new chance."

This guy is stupid. period. Any man with that kind of possession with a sound mind will take out the hard disk before sending in the laptop for repair. The hard drive can easily be used as a data disk with the photos intact. With a few hundred dollars, the hard drive of the laptop can be replaced with a new one with new OS installed. BTW purely for academic interest, I would like to know how many Chinese samples the lady from the paradise island has taken before reaching such a statistical conclusion about the Chen's Chinese thing ?

All of them are famous models, singers and movie stars in Hong Kong. One of them has the image of an innocent girl all the time and she was promoting virginity in high schools. It was so shocking when her fans saw her tasting someone's corrot in hard core style real life.

You need a certain level of IT literacy to remove a hard drive from a laptop. Plus, the fact that he brought the laptop for repair may be an indication of a problem with the hard drive itself (or the operating system installed on it).

I think the dude just forgot he had those sensitive data in the laptop, period. The simplest way would have been to back up those files to a CD or a portable hard drive (you can get a 80GB or 120GB for less than $100 these days) and delete the files.

But I like the idea of removing the hard drive altogether though. Deleted files can be recovered from hard drives with the appropriate technology. That's why the big companies have special methods of disposing aging computer equipment to avoid data theft.

I think the dude is unable to back up as there should be something wrong with the OS. If he does not know how to remove the hard drive, he should ask people like me  to do the job for him in his presence rather than left the laptop with the shop. He is habituatly taking photos of the girls he has fun with and puts them in the laptop as now it is revealed that he has in possession of another thousands of similar photos of his woman friends (he submits to the police for further investation..another crisis for those girls as they are now exposed to the curious policemen). He may forget who were in the laptop but very unlikely he has forgetten what was in the laptop.

"Statistical conclusion"? You mean my calling him "big [for a Chinese]" or my guessing that he's about 5 inches?

It wasn't really Edison Chen's fault.  The PC repairman shouldn't have been snooping around Edison's personal files.  His job was to repair the laptop and not snoop, period.

It's the people who can repair their own PCs who know exactly what to do under these special circumstances.

What I don't understand is why Edison had to make a public apology: he didn't do anything wrong.  He didn't put these images on the net.  Those who've seen the images are people who searched for it.  If you don't want your kids to see these images, don't save it on your PC; don't have them as your wallpaper.

You guys are talking about hundrdeds and thousands of photos....how many different women were in these pictures with this  guy huh? What is the exact body count?

If good old Eddy had the capacity to hammer fellow celebrities, what more of the common, non celeb. chicks??  I think there are other hard drives spewing pictures and videos of Eddy" Casanova" Chen's exploits.

If the public opinion is always rational like you, the world shall has peace long ago. The public is very strage and irrational, they protested about the police for arresting the man posting the photops on the net, they protested the police for arresting the man who "stole" the photos, they asked for freedom to circulate the photos under the cover of freedom of speech, and they asked the police to investigate Chen because he was the one who took the photos. When there is a public opinion, there may not be a reason. Chen in fact legally and morally has no reason to apologise, but nobody dares to say that openly, his apology is purely a response to what the public wants.

His apologies were I believe for the female stars in the pictures which have been exposed because of the pictures being made public. He is wealthy enough to retire at 27, but not most of those girls whose careers now are at risk, to say the least.

In fact Chen's family is already rich enough to enable him to live  millionaire style without working. His father is the godfather in Hong Kong's movie business. No one can start a film career in Hong Kong without his blessing.
