City girl on a rice farm in China

I visited Hong Kong in 2008. I thought New York was fast-paced but Hong Kong is faster and more dense. There's so much commerce, I couldn't figure out where to eat or shop. Too many choices LOL! I had to spend time in Kowloon to recover. The heat was off the chain. But I will visit again.  One place worth visiting: The 10,000 Buddist monastery! It's an incredible experience. The road leading to the mountain is behind an Ikea and furniture mall. However, once you start the 20 minute climb, your eyes feast on 100's of life size gold Buddhas reflecting every emotion known to man. Then the monastery at the top of the mountain literally has at least 10,000 miniature Buddhas dedicated to people who while living, did many good deeds. The courtyard is astonishingly beautiful with more life size gods and goddesses which represent the origin of many Chinese cultural myths. This was my favorite place in Hong Kong.

Pat Togo: I think if you have a family, Hong Kong is a good idea. The schools are of a higher caliber and an established businessman, like yourself, might find better opportunity there.
