Brother from Michigan coming to Shanghai

Hello all,
I'm coming to Shanghai January 4, 2008.  I don't speak Mandarin but do have an ESL teaching certificate.  I've been really excited since deciding to come to Shanghai but as the day nears I have to admit there is a touch of fear also.

I writing because I'm hoping someone would like to meet me at the airport.  I'm also interested in hearing about a decent place to stay at a reasonable rate.  Right now a hotel is the plan but it can get pretty expensive so I'm open to advice.

I'd like to show my appreciation with dinner that day or another if you like.

I just think I'm going to need some help.
