Ok where are all the brothers at?
I have been here for 3 months and have not gotten any type pf positive responce from my brothers in the African Diaspora.
I see some every now and again, but they just look and keep stepping.
What the heck is up? Do sistas lose their mojo when they come here?
I do live in Songjiang, population 500,000 Native Chinese,  a few hundred european foreigners , and as far as I know 1 sista; me.
Could that be the reason I can't meet my people?

Well anyway, can you guys tell me where the hang out spots are so I can be in the company of my own sometimes.

It's possible our paths may cross.  I try to treat people the same no matter what their skin color is.  Which means that if our paths cross you'll get treated just like any other woman that I might casually meet-- I might look at them but for the most part I keep stepping.  I won't ignore you because of your race.  Just don't expect me to give you special recognition because of it either.

Living in Songjiang?  I'm having a vision... of a Chicago-born Nubian leaving the boonies in order to find a decent western-type hangout... perhaps she is headed to Jingan district for the weekend...

I would definitely date a Chinese guy. I've spent the past 3 years avoiding them, but quite honestly I wouldn't mind bringing one home...a little Shanghai souvenir.

I also agree to the posting about not making a big fuss about seeing another sista or brother. But none the less it feels good to see some one like you every once and a while. To be honest I think, no I know in Japan I would get mad attention, and the men there dont look half bad either.

But anyway, I like meeting people and now that I quit my horrible job I can make some moves and be social, so if yall doing anything keep a sista updated on the goings on's in the city.

hmmm nubian so tell us about japanese guys.  i agree they are not hard on the eyes.  have you spent any time in japan?  if so, what was your experiece with the culture and people in general.

LOL. Thing is, many women don't realize that men in China have it easy.  With the ratio of women surpassing men, it's so easy for guys to get laid - especially the foreign ones.  So players are less likely to chase you around.

I'd like to make two small corrections: 

• The sex ratio is skewed against women; there are millions more men than women in China.  These millions of men are starting to come of age and there just are not enough potential wives to go around.
• To say that expat men have it easy is an understatement.  Especially for men who are looking for shorter term hookups.  I'm not particularly handsome nor charismatic and even for me the only thing between a parade of eager 19-24 year-old women and I, is desire.

1 - My mistake, I completely forgot it was the other way round here.

2 - Funny thing...the reason I said that you guys have it REAL easy here is that I know some guys here whom, if they were in my country they'd die virgins...and they actually get laid a whole lot here. It really boosts their confidence...they fail to realize that some women still find them...disgust gross.

On the other hand I think it's killer-easy for a girl to get laid here...so this topic did surprise me a bit.[/list]

Yo Sis.....u can all u want here in Southern China....come around as they await u. Oh an Sab, just accept things the way it is in CHina..and yeah, if those kina guys who can't get it back in their countries get it easily here,it's god cuz first the girls here wouln't front that much as most do. Just start accepting it..
