Job Title:   Teaching/Residential Assistant, Summer Program In Shanghai

Organization:   Foundation Programs Incorporated is an educational organization that develops and runs cultural exposure programs in China for high-achieving high school students from the English-speaking world

Program:   ‘Glimpses of China’ is an English-taught, university-prep academic program that covers key political, economic, and social issues pertinent to contemporary and historical China.  Key program modules include:  lectures, seminars, field studies, arts workshops, Mandarin tutorials, speaker events, Chinese movies, collaborative projects with local students, visits and excursions.  Further information is available at: www.foundationprograms.com.

Responsibility:   Full-time Teaching Assistant/Residential Assistant in Shanghai from June 17 to August 22.  TAs will stay with and mentor students, lead and facilitate their complete learning experience throughout the program.

Compensation:   We pay for all program-related expenses, including an economy class return air-ticket between the US and Shanghai (if the TA leaves from the US), room and board

Qualification:   Undergraduate (sophomore and up) or graduate students from a top US/UK.  Been raised in the US (or Europe) during most of his/her life.  Near-native fluency in conversational Mandarin.  Strongly interested in the education and development of high school students. Interest in China.  Liberal arts / Asian Studies major preferred.  Experience in teaching or supervising high school students preferred.  Prior traveling in China preferred.

Oh, but most people were neither raised at the Us nor Europe...so i think the opportunity is limited..Thanks all the same Purple

I know Promo. However, I do know that there is at least one African American brother (Randall) who expressed interest in finding a better job and I posted it just in case there were others on the site who are qualified.

thanks purplepens!!!  it is definitely tempting to me.  i wish i could do that this summer.  i will still attempt to move to china in december to study and work.  i'll see.
