Sabrina, I haven't heard of a specific law regarding closing doors when there is a shooting but it has been argued that in the VA Tech shooting, if students had been informed after the first shooting, and were told to lock their doors and stay inside, more lives would have been saved. Ironically, one report I read said that the shooter actually brought heavy chain with him which he used to chainlock the doors of Norris Hall where most of the shootings took place. It was thought that if the students had remained in their rooms, there would have been fewer fatalities and he would have been caught sooner.

I see...really sad. :-\ I was watching the amateur video that was taken where you can hear the gunshots...it's heartbreaking.

Thanks a lot for the above quote & posts, Purplepens. ;)

From what he said in this clip....I'm eally trying to understand how he musthave felt...Though mass shooting wasn't a good choice, but fo real, he was pushed really hard
Code: [Select]
...."Do u know what it feels like to be spit on? Do u know what it feels like for trash to be shoved down ur throat?"  ..Fo real all these happens and it's done by some heartless and mannerless kids ,who don't know how people are . I really know how this guy felt now,but i'm still not in support of the mass murder cuz it affected the innocent .

Yes...really is heart-wrenching. :'( I can't believe he took all those lives away.  I'm trying hard to feel compassionate towards him but it's not easy.  He just wanted all those people who bullied & mistreated him to feel guilty, he wants them to feel that what they did to him caused him to react the way he did.

It was really wrong of him to kill anyone.  But this really is a symbol I think.  What he was going through as an Asian in the US was enough to drive him insane.

I don't know about the kids in other countries, but American kids elementary through high school can be really cruel.  They don't discriminate based on race.  I think, the fact of Cho, being a Korean was used as ammunition towards him.  There are countless stories of kids that are bullied.  I feel some compassion towards him, but I also feel like he took it out on the wrong people.  I also think it went past the bullying.  He had some mental issues.
But we have to remember that the real victims are the students.  I was watching the story on Oprah.  There were three girlfriends who lost their best friend and their suitemate.  They also showed pictures of them hanging out.  That story really affected me, because I thought about when I was in college and what if one of my best friends or roommates died like that.  I mean in college I was with my girls 24-7.  It would have been awful to lose one of them, in such a tragic manner.

Danielle, i know how it feels to loose a close friend, cuz i've lost two to Auto accident 2001,still now i can't believe they're dead....I saw life as nothing after that, i just live to see the next day. Have u ever imagined what it feels like to talk with a person and decide to meet up the next weekend ,only to realise he or she is gone......I sometimes still shed tears for my friend's lose  :'(
