About Us

Afroshanghai.com was started in 2005 by a group of African students at Fudan University, as an online community for fellow Africans living in Shanghai. Other than the online discussion forums, small gatherings were organized from time to time (at the infamous Windows Too) for members to network and know more about each other, and exchange about their lives or experience in China.

After a few years of slow development, the site has now relaunched in May 2010 with more activities in the pipeline, including adding new content, making the Afroshanghai t-shirt available (finally!) for sale, and preparing the fifth anniversary of the launch of the site.

Afroshanghai.com is now operated with the strategic partnership of First Africa Advisory Group, a leading African-owned and operated consulting company providing advisory services for Chinese companies investing in Africa.
